As contemporary artists founded in the fine arts, we work from a stew of internal and external influences. Our culture’s art history heritage strengthens us, while modern society’s technological advances, sheer speed, and newly developing “system-consciousness” offer new ways of looking at our world.

While many artists have tended to stick to one particular medium, we find that using different mediums allows for more creative freedom of expression. It is through film, sculpture, metalsmithing, photography, graphic design, and music that we express our emotional and spiritual life as well as confront and comment upon social and political issues. Ultimately, art is our tool for spanning the gap between the material world we understand most easily and the less material, spiritual if you will, world of pure creation.

As modern artists and cohorts, Oceanscape Arts would rather not envision art as something that merely connects with our activities as artists but as something that slips out of us and into the world with a life of its own.
